Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Sankri

Distance  : 200 kms | Time : (8–9 hrs)

 

Start your adventure early in the morning from Dehradun and embark on a picturesque 190 km drive to Sankri. The route takes you through lush valleys, charming hill stations, and alongside rivers like Yamuna and Tons. En route, pass through scenic towns such as Mussoorie, Purola, and Mori. The final stretch through Govind National Park offers breathtaking views of the forests and foothills of the Himalayas. Arrive in Sankri by late afternoon or evening. Sankri is a quaint mountain village and the base for many treks in the region. Check-in to your hotel or guesthouse, enjoy a hot meal, and relax for the night amidst peaceful Himalayan surroundings.

Begin your day with a refreshing morning in Sankri and get ready for the next leg of the Har Ki Dun Valley Trek. After breakfast, drive around 12 km to Taluka, a small scenic village that serves as the official starting point of the trek. The route passes through dense pine and deodar forests with beautiful views of the Supin River flowing alongside. On reaching Taluka, start your trek towards Chilurgad on an easy and gradual trail, perfect for beginners. As you walk through lush green forests, you will cross wooden bridges, small waterfalls, and peaceful streams, enjoying the natural beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas. After a few hours of trekking, arrive at the serene Chilurgad campsite beside the river, surrounded by mountains and quiet wilderness. Start your day at the beautiful Seema campsite and continue your journey deeper into the Har Ki Dun Valley as you trek towards Bolso camp. After breakfast, the trail gradually ascends through dense pine forests, lush green meadows, and scenic riverbanks of the Supin River. Along the way, you will cross small wooden bridges, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, and witness the peaceful charm of remote mountain life.
