Trek Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Dehradun to Joshimath
Distance : 270 km | Time : 9–10 hrs
Start your Kuari Pass Trek adventure early in the morning from Dehradun and begin a scenic drive towards Joshimath, the gateway to many famous Himalayan treks. The journey takes you through beautiful mountain roads, lush valleys, and riverside landscapes along the Alaknanda River. En route, pass through popular towns like Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag, witnessing stunning river confluences and Himalayan scenery. Arrive in Joshimath by evening, check in to your hotel, enjoy a warm meal, and rest overnight.
Day 2: Drive to Dhak and trek to Gulling camp
Distance : 12 km drive + 5–6 km trek | Time : 4–5 hrs
After breakfast, drive from Joshimath to Dhak village, the starting point of the Kuari Pass Trek. Begin your trek through terraced fields, small mountain villages, and dense oak forests. The trail is gradual and scenic, offering beautiful views of the Garhwal Himalayas. After trekking for a few hours, reach the peaceful Gulling campsite surrounded by forests and mountain serenity. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day 3: Gulling Camp to Tali Forest Camp
Distance : 5–6 km | Time : 4–5 hrs
Begin your day with a refreshing morning in the mountains and continue trekking towards Tali Forest Camp. The trail passes through dense rhododendron and oak forests, with occasional clearings offering breathtaking Himalayan views. The gradual ascent makes it enjoyable for beginners. By afternoon, arrive at Tali campsite, a beautiful forest clearing with stunning surroundings. Relax, enjoy a warm meal, and rest overnight under the starry sky.
Day 4: Tali Camp to Kuari Pass, Return to Tali Camp
Distance : 9–10 km | Time : 7–8 hrs
Today is the most exciting day as you trek to the famous Kuari Pass. Start early and climb through alpine meadows and ridges with spectacular views of snow-covered peaks. Upon reaching Kuari Pass, witness breathtaking panoramic views of Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, and other Himalayan giants. Spend some memorable time at the pass before descending back to Tali campsite by evening. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in tents.
Day 5: Tali Camp to Dhak, Drive Back to Joshimath
Distance : 10–11 km trek + 12 km drive | Time : 6–7 hrs
After breakfast, begin your descent towards Dhak village. The trail offers one last chance to enjoy the beautiful forests, mountain villages, and scenic landscapes. Reach Dhak by afternoon and drive back to Joshimath. Check in to your hotel, enjoy a hot meal, and relax overnight after completing the trek.
Day 6: Drive from Joshimath to Dehradun
Distance : 270 km | Time : 9–10 hrs
Begin your return journey early from Joshimath to Dehradun. The scenic drive takes you back through the beautiful valleys of Uttarakhand, passing riverside roads, hill towns, and famous confluences. Arrive in Dehradun by evening with unforgettable memories of the Kuari Pass Trek adventure.
